Final Project Bitsy Game

Dania Alluhaidan, Fall 2022

This class has been a great opportunity to learn about HTML coding and add it to my coding knowledge. Not only HTML, but also learning CSS has given me the chance to practice my coding skills and the creativity of styling a website. Some other elements in the class we learned were also helpful that I get back to them sometimes to inspire me to start a project idea or a topic for a paper.

As for my final project, since I have been struggling with creating a Bitsy game, I decided to take the challenge of creating a finished Bitsy game for my final. There were a few struggles of course, but doing research and looking up videos helped me a lot guide me to overcome the problems.

My main Goals of this final were to incorporate all the elements learned in the class in a creative way in the game, focus on visuals, audio, and have a variety of colors in the game by adding codes in the game’s coding sheet, overcome the struggles that I had when I previously worked on a Bitsy game assignment in this class.

Elements:

I used Oblique strategies to generate a text that the psychic(in the 3rd room) would say 1- A line has two sides. 2-make a blank valuable by putting it in an exquisite frame. 3-Don’t be frightened of cliches. 4- Is there something missing?. I also used another Oblique strategy card that says “take a break” in the living room thought bubble.

CharNG was used to regenerate a lost letter of a poem that I liked (1st found letter by the player).

N+7 was used to regenerate a love poem (2nd found letter by the player).

Otter.ai was used at 3:50am whispering “One apple a day keeps the doctor away” which otter generated it as “day keeps the doctor away.” Which is used in the text of the first picked apple in the game

As for Crowdsourcing, I asked my family members what are their favorite fruits. Most of them answered apple, grape, and orange. I added an amount of each to resemble each member.

I used “Botanic” to generate a random dream when the player decides to go to bed.

Anagram Generator was used to generate a text when the player wants to watch TV as the TV noises. I used “watch TV” to generate new text.
